Patriots to offer ‘beautifully remodeled’ home renovation theme to all players
NEW YORK — New England Patriots players will have their own home renovation themed theme that includes “home renovation” in their home, head coach Bill Belichick said Monday.
The theme for the team’s preseason training camp is “Beautifully remodelled,” according to a team news release.
The theme was designed to be a “tribute” to the team, Belichick said.
“We’re going to do something very specific for the first time in the history of the franchise, we’re going go back to the roots and build a brand new facility that we think will be better than the one we’ve had,” Belichick said during the media day.
“Beautifully renovated” was created to recognize the players who have been through the home remodeling process, Belichick added.
Players who are participating in the camp will be asked to create their own personal home renovation experience.
They’ll be given two weeks to create a renovation of their home.
Belichick also announced the first group of new players to participate in the home renovation training camp, which will take place at the University of Minnesota.
Patriots assistant coaches and special teams coach Jim Tomsula, a former NFL player who coached the team to two Super Bowl victories, will also participate in camp.
Tomsula and Belichick are the only coaches on the roster to have played in at least two NFL seasons.
Belichick’s former defensive coordinator, Bill Parcells, also has been invited to camp.
New England opened the preseason against the Minnesota Vikings on Aug. 31.
The Patriots open the regular season on Sept. 2 against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Patriots are also inviting players to share their experiences on social media.
The hashtag “#beautifullyrebuilt” will be used to help spread the word about the camp.
